For some, Lotto Bands is the next step after participating in Adult Rock Camp to try out a short-term and slightly more formal band setting. For others, it’s a way to shake things up with a new band. For everyone, it’s a way to participate in the RCRC community through playing music together.
Who should sign up to participate?
All adults ages 18+ who are gender-marginalized are welcome to participate. This includes cis women, and anyone under the trans umbrella, including non-binary people. Former RCRC volunteers and alumni, local musicians who haven’t connected with RCRC yet, and anyone who is ready to play in a band setting and wants to perform with others! Living in Seattle is not required, but most practices and the Showcase will take place in the city, so living close enough to the greater Seattle area to commute is necessary.
Does Lotto Bands cost money?
RCRC strives to provide equitable access to programming, regardless of financial resources, so there is a sliding scale sign-up fee of $100-$35. The sign-up fee goes towards covering staff time and facilities rental. Please let us know if the sign-up fee presents a barrier to your participation in Lotto Bands.
Do I get to choose my instrument?
Yes! Sign up for either guitar, bass, vocals, keys, drums; or any combination of those, if you are open to more than one.
Do I have to have my own gear?
No. Gear can be borrowed from RCRC as needed. If you need to borrow equipment, arrange to do so by emailing programsupport@raincityrockcamp.org.
