Amplified Teen Voices (ATV)

Program Overview

Amplified Teen Voices (ATV) is Rain City Rock Camp’s year-round youth leadership cohort. The group supports high school youth of diverse genders who have participated in at least one RCRC program, and who are committed to amplifying RCRC’s mission in our community and beyond.

Where Music Meets Mental Health

For 2026-2027 we will be focusing on the impact the arts can have on youth mental health and well being. Youth who participate in ATV throughout the year and complete two training sessions are eligible to serve on our summer camp peer to peer mental health crew, which includes an $800 stipend.

What do we do in ATV ?

In ATV you get to more deeply explore RCRC’s mission to promote racial and gender equity in our community and beyond. This looks like exploring art as activism, individual and collective leadership development, and building community via events, workshops and youth led activities.

As an ATV member, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • build strong peer-to-peer relationships with like-minded youth interested in music, the arts, leadership and activism
  • assist RCRC in building action-oriented, relevant, youth-driven programming
  • provide a crucial voice in how RCRC works with youth and our direction as an organization
  • work with experienced mentors to develop leadership skills
  • connect and work with youth leaders from other local organizations
  • explore the more technical side of music and equipment
  • help staff brainstorm RCRC’s annual theme
  • act in a leadership role during our year-round programming
  • jam together, do arts and crafts, play games, and more!

2026-2027 Details:

Dates & Times:

ATV meets twice monthly on the first Thursdays of each month. Second meeting varies, depending on the event or activity.

ATV meets from 6:30-8 pm. October- June

Locations:

In person on the first Thursday of each month in Seattle’s Central District, and various locations for events and activities each month.

Applications for the 2026-2027 ATV cohort will close on September 22nd.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Have attended at least one RCRC program
  • ATV: Will be a high school student (grades 9-12) at the start of the program year (October) unless they were previously a member of Amplified Youth Voices.

Frequently Asked Questions

ATV & AYV are tuition-free programs, and membership is on a volunteer basis. ATV & AYV members are not paid a stipend. All meetings and activities count as service hours.

Attendance at all meetings is expected. If you need to be absent from any meetings for any reason, please let the group facilitators know as soon as possible.

The Summer Camp Intern Program and ATV are two separate, independent programs. While many ATV members choose to intern at Summer Camp, it is not a requirement of the program. Our hope is that ATV members build community and develop leadership skills that they can use in many facets of their lives, within and outside of Rain City Rock Camp.

ATV cohorts typically have anywhere from 8-16 members.
As a newer program, AYV will have around 2-5 members.
