Rachel McDonald (she/her)

Rachel McDonald grew up playing classical piano and flute in a tiny town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. For more than 20 years, she’s worked at the intersection of libraries and youth development, creating programs and services for and with teens and tweens. She started her first band at the age of 40 and is learning to play guitar. She began volunteering for RCRC in 2022 and immediately loved the energy and creativity shown by both campers and staff. She’s passionate about music as an agent of political expression. Punk, folk, rap, any genre – she’ll listen if she’s excited about the message.

Outside of work, playing music, and volunteering, you might find Rachel skating at the roller rink, biking up and down Seattle’s hills, or curled up on the couch with a good book.
