Some of our volunteer positions require musical knowledge, but many don’t! We also have full- and part-time volunteer positions available.

COVID-19 UPDATE: We have been carefully following the course of the COVID-19 outbreak hoping that we would still be able to hold our summer programs in person. But, after considering all of the information currently available, we have decided that the best way to protect the health and safety of the RCRC community is to switch Summer Camp, South Sound Rocks and our Advanced Music Program (AMP) to a virtual format. We are sad that we won’t get to see our amazing campers in person this year, but we’re also excited to explore new ways of gathering together online to support each other, express ourselves and make some music! And, we’re going to need volunteers’ help more than ever! We hope you’ll join us on this journey of discovery!

Virtual Summer Camp Volunteering FAQs

Will there still be a South Sound Rocks! this year?
Since geographic location doesn’t matter in a virtual setting, we’ll be combining South Sound Rocks! and our Seattle Summer Camp into one big Virtual Summer Camp serving campers from the Tacoma and Seattle areas.

Will you still need support crew and front desk volunteers?
We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our support crew and front desk volunteers. Unfortunately, we won’t have these roles for Virtual Summer Camp. If you’re volunteered in one of these roles during previous years and are interested in supporting our Virtual Summer Camp in other ways, email us programsupport@raincityrockcamp.org. We’d love for you to be involved!

Are the volunteer roles different for Virtual Summer Camp?
Because we’re moving to a virtual platform, volunteer roles and schedules will change just a little bit. But we still need our volunteers just as much as ever! Please see the updated virtual volunteer roles below:
